Smash - Up
Our annual Pottery Posse New Years Smash Up was yesterday at fourth & clay. Participants included Diana Fayt, Christa Assad, Whitney Smith, rae dunn, Sara Paloma(who won the award for the best thrower with the most beautiful seconds ever) and me with much help from our men, Andrew Hayes and John Schnick .Here's a little video John made of the event. I crack up every time I watch it especially the limbering up scene. What an incredible way to start 2011...ridding the world of ugly pots, toasting in a new beginning and being with good, fun loving, pot making friends.

Happy New Year to you all from Down Under. What a Great way to start the year, I guess getting rid of all those not so good pots will make room for some really excellent ones in 2011!
wow josie. i smashed a bunch of pots last week but not with near the same fanfare...never thought of making a party out of it. seems like you could only do it with other clay folk because the general population cannot bear to purposely break pots.
on another note...i'll be in your neck of the woods next month, what days are you at the shop?

Hi Heidi, Will be around most of Feb. fourth & clay is having a demo workshop with Forrest Lesch-Middleton on the 12th (wanna come?...more info here...http://fourthandclay.blogspot.com/2010/12/forrest-lesch-middleton-workshop.html) and I will be in the mountains for one week starting the 14th. Do hope we can connect.
