Ho! Ho! Ho!

Pitcher from a new series I've been working on inspired by this book.

First Saturday of our Holiday hours at fourth & clay and you will will find me in our cleaned up studio serving cookies, listening to Christmas carols and maybe covered with a bit of clay dust.

The holiday season begins. I love this time of year especially now that I'm "retired". Working my old job and trying to be together for the holiday was a bit of a stretch. December was always one of Sweet Potatoes busiest times of the year. I had a huge collection to design, salesman's samples to produce and get shipped out by January 1. Getting people to deliver on time during this busy season (or even work) was a nightmare. Just the memory make me sweat (and it's been 6 years...yikees!).

The pressure of getting new ceramics together, sprucing up the studio, helping plan a party and being open for a few weekends is a delight for me. Just enough to keep me busy and out of trouble. Do I enjoy being at fourth & clay every weekend? Yup...especially in the beginning when people come by and are NICE. So come on by and have a cookie.

I can't imagine how nice it feels to have a career in pottery after you've already 'retired'. That must feel so free, Josie. P.S. That pitcher is absolutely stunning. Can't wait to see more. I'm checking out the book now.

Thanks everybody for the great comments on my pitcher. It sold the first day of the Holiday Open Studios to one of my favorite customers, YAY!
